Home is the place we spend most of our lives. Living in a quiet environment is a sign of well-being and peace of mind. However, as we all know from our daily experience, there are many noise sources at home that have a negative impact on our stay. Below we suggest simple solutions, easy to implement:
- Use adhesive foam tapes to seal air gaps around doors and windows.
- Place carpets on the floors to reduce impact noise.
- Avoid direct contact of chairs with the floor by using adhesive felt.
- Prefer soft-closing drawer slides.
- Use bumpers to avoid impact noise when using doors.
- Upon operating a noisy appliance in a room, reduce airborne noise propagation by closing doors.
- When purchasing household equipment, take into account, among others, the emitted sound level as declared by the manufacturer.
- Avoid direct contact between household appliances (e.g. washing machine) and sound devices (e.g. speakers) and the floor by inserting anti-vibration pads.
- For personal listening use headphones, avoiding harmful high sound levels.
