Calculation of noise levels near sound source

The picture shows a case of noise mapping for a sound barrier design study. A sound source operating in a commercial space adjacent to residential buildings emits high level noise. In order to reduce the noise level emitted, the installation of a sound barrier was proposed. Octave frequency analysis measurements were carried out to check the concentration of sound energy. Noise mapping software was used to calculate the sound level in the surrounding area. Based on the calculations, a sound barrier of appropriate height was designed to reduce the emitted noise.
